How to Configure Centova Cast?

Centova Cast is a streaming radio hosting control panel that allows you to manage your own Internet radio station with ease. Whether you want to run a single station or a stream hosting business with thousands of clients, Centova Cast can handle virtually any stream hosting scenario. In this article, we will show you how to configure Centova Cast for your streaming needs.

Step 1: Create an account

To use Centova Cast, you need to create an account with a hosting provider that offers Centova Cast as a service. You can find a list of such providers on the Centova Cast website¹. Alternatively, you can install Centova Cast on your own server if you have the technical skills and the system requirements².

Once you have an account, you can log in to the Centova Cast web interface using your username and password. The web interface is where you can manage your stream settings, media library, playlists, statistics, and more.

Step 2: Configure your stream settings

The first thing you need to do after logging in is to configure your stream settings. This includes basic information such as your stream name, genre, description, and website URL. You can also choose your streaming server type (SHOUTcast or IceCast), bitrate, sample rate, and channels.

To configure your stream settings, go to the Settings tab and click on Stream. Fill in the required fields and click on Update to save your changes.

Step 3: Upload your media files

To broadcast your music or audio content, you need to upload your media files to the Centova Cast server. You can do this in two ways: using the web-based file manager or using FTP.

The web-based file manager allows you to upload files from your computer or from a URL. You can also create folders, rename files, delete files, and more. To access the file manager, go to the Files tab and click on File Manager.

The FTP option allows you to upload files using an FTP client such as FileZilla or WinSCP. You can find your FTP login details on the Quick Links tab. You can also use FTP to download files from the server or transfer files between accounts.

Step 4: Create your playlists

A playlist is a collection of tracks that you want to play on your stream. You can create different playlists for different purposes, such as genres, moods, themes, or schedules. You can also create smart playlists that automatically update based on criteria such as popularity, rating, or date added.

To create a playlist, go to the Media tab and click on Playlists. Click on New Playlist and choose the type of playlist you want to create: general rotation, interval, scheduled, or immediate. Fill in the playlist name and other options and click on Save.

To add tracks to your playlist, go to the Tracks tab and drag and drop the tracks from the media library to the playlist. You can also use the search function or the filters to find specific tracks.

Step 5: Start your stream

Once you have configured your stream settings, uploaded your media files, and created your playlists, you are ready to start your stream. To do this, go to the Dashboard tab and click on Start under Server Status.

You can also start or stop your stream using the widgets on the sidebar or the quick links on the top right corner.

To listen to your stream, go to the Stream tab and click on one of the listen links. You can also embed a player widget on your website or share your stream URL with others.

Centova Cast is a powerful and user-friendly streaming radio hosting control panel that lets you manage your own Internet radio station with ease. By following these steps, you can configure Centova Cast for your streaming needs and start broadcasting your music or audio content online.
